Canadian ammonites are fossils that can been found in Alberta, Canada. These Ammolite gemstones are best known for their iridescent colours, which are caused by diffraction of light which passes through the layers of the minerals. Their colours can range from blues and greens to reds and purples, and each crystal is unique in colour, pattern and shape. The ammolites are coated in a high quality resin to protect the surface area from scratches and damage. It also protects the shell from dust, dirt, and other contaminants that can build on the surface over time. These crystals are called ammolite triplet which is a type of gemstone consisting of three layers of material, including a thin slice of high-quality ammolite, a resin cover on the top, and a shale backing.
